In today’s post-industrial knowledge society, AICIS’ research is needed to define the visions and possibilities for Åland’s future. These cannot be done in isolation, but in collaboration with similar societies – after all, it is a shared world and the issues are the same everywhere, for example pollution, renewable resources and sustainable energy. The work of AICIS can help to create a more dynamic environment, better equipped to handle changes when they occur. This setting is more appealing to today’s young people who are not only better educated, but who also want to live in a challenging and stimulating society.
